A favorite in the North Texas barbecue scene is opening a location near the Arlington stadiums.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A North Texas barbecue favorite is opening a new location soon.

The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque, which currently has a location in Trophy Club, is scheduled to hold its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Arlington location, at 1600 E. Copeland Road, on March 13.

The Arlington site, which sits just off Interstate 30 off Nolan Ryan Expressway near the stadiums, is being overseen by general manager Israel Silva, who previously helped launch the brand’s first restaurant in Trophy Club. Company leaders say the new location aims to bring the same style of slow-smoked meats and casual, family-friendly dining experience to Arlington’s entertainment district.

The menu at the Arlington restaurant will include smoked brisket, pork ribs and beef ribs, along with its specialty items such as the “Texas Twinkie,” a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. Traditional sides like macaroni and cheese, pinto beans and elote also will be offered.

The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque was founded in 2023, not to be confused with the also-popular Hutchins BBQ located in Frisco.

Wesley Hutchins, the oldest son of Roy Hutchins, opened The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque after a legal battle over the Hutchins BBQ trademark. The new name was intended to avoid confusion.
