A violent Sunday in Houston ended with two separate officer-involved shootings and two men dead. The first unfolded just before 9 a.m. at Main and Bell downtown, where METRO police say a man walked toward the Bell Station platform with a gun during what appeared to be a domestic dispute. Officers say he refused commands, shots were fired, and he later died at the hospital; no officers were hurt. Train service on the Red Line was disrupted as homicide detectives moved in to investigate.

Last night, officers were called to a domestic disturbance along the Southwest Freeway in southwest Houston. Police say the suspect in that case was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Again, no officers were injured. Investigators have not released further details about the circumstances in either case. Both shootings remain under active investigation.
