CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A White House source has confirmed to Spectrum News that President Donald Trump will pay a visit to Corpus Christi on Feb. 27 to give a speech on energy and the economy.

This comes just days before an already hotly contested primary election on March 3, featuring a marquee battle in the Republican U.S. Senate race between incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt.

Trump hasn’t endorsed a candidate in that race, having previously said that he has yet to make a decision and that he likes all three of the candidates.

The speech will also closely follow the president’s State of the Union address, during which he is expected to tout his accomplishments since retaking office in January 2025.

There is as yet no word on who, if anyone, will join him, but at least one state representative announced on X that he was shifting his rally with Gov. Greg Abbott in Lockhart to earlier in the day due to the president’s visit.

The president last visited the Texas coast in 2022, where he held a political rally.
