Police say they detained four people after hours-long effort to make contact at a residence with a history of violence.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department detained four people and arrested one person after responding to a welfare check at a home on Tuesday morning.
CCPD Officer Madeline Commons said they were called to the residence around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Swantner Dr. and Indiana Ave. after a neighbor requested a welfare check for a woman.
Officers said they knocked and called out for about 45 minutes but got no response, even though they could hear movement inside.
Because of a history of violence tied to the home, Officer Commons said they requested additional resources, including a SWAT team and a drone, to try to make contact with anyone inside safely.
Officers later entered the home and detained four people. Police said one person will be taken into custody for three active warrants. Officer Commons said it is not yet clear if additional charges will be filed.
No injuries were reported.Â
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
