During its upcoming Feb. 26 meeting, the Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 board of commissioners will review a status report on several growth and efficiency recommendations from a 2023 audit of the Cy-Fair Fire Department.

In a nutshell

CFFD officials will present an up-to-date look at the department’s implementation of recommendations outlined in a 2023 audit from Citygate Associates, according to the February agenda.

The California-based consulting firm, which works with local government entities across the country, presented its recommendations to the board in fall 2023. Challenges listed in Citygate’s report included deployment service gaps and personnel shortages, Community Impact previously reported.

CFFD released a Strategic Implementation Plan shortly after detailing how the department will address the needed staffing support, administrative adjustments and fire station growth through 2031—although the plan may surpass the initial timeline.
