The State of the Union address is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday CT.
AUSTIN, Texas — First Lady Melania Trump has invited 10-year-old Everest Nevraumont of Austin to attend the 2026 State of the Union address in recognition of her work in artificial intelligence.
The Office of the First Lady announced Tuesday that Nevraumont, a student at the Alpha School – which is an AI-focused program in Austin- will join Trump in the First Lady’s Box for the address. She will attend alongside Sierra Burns of Greenville, South Carolina, a participant in Trump’s foster youth to independence program.
Both guests “represent the spirit” of Trump’s BE BEST initiative, which aims to empower young Americans through technology and education, according to a statement from the First Lady’s office.
“Sierra and Everest embody my ongoing mission to uplift America’s foster youth and expand opportunities for our next generation through education and technology,” Trump said in the statement. “I am proud to have them join me at this historic event.”
Nevraumont recently gave a TED Talk titled “Learning to Learn” about how she uses AI in education. She’s also a three-time Texas State Champion in history.
