AUSTIN, Texas — An unidentified White male in his 40s was found dead from gunshot wounds early Saturday morning, according to Austin police.
Officers responded to a shooting call at 1400 E. Rundberg Lane at 3:05 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim near a dumpster, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at 3:16 a.m., Austin police reported.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists are investigating the incident. Preliminary findings suggest the victim was shot by an unknown suspect who fled the scene, according to the Austin Police Department.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Austin Police at 512-974-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
This case marks Austin’s 10th homicide of 2026, according to the department.
