FORT WORTH – John Escudero, 95, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. Born on February 22, 1930, in Jessup, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Paul Escudero and Baldina (Albini) Escudero. Visitation: Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:25 p.m. in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76107. Funeral Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel with Father Basil Zebrun officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park with Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Navy. John lived a life marked by devotion-to his family, his faith, and his country. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and patriotism throughout his life. His spiritual home was within the Eastern Orthodox Church, and he and his wife worshiped faithfully at Saint Barbara’s Orthodox Church in Fort Worth. A man of energy and enthusiasm, John had a lifelong love of fitness and sports. While he enjoyed many athletic pursuits, his heart belonged to one team above all others: the Philadelphia Eagles. His passion for football was matched only by the joy he found in sharing it with those he loved. He also enjoyed fishing. John is survived by his beloved wife, Olga Escudero; his daughters, Barbara Escudero and her husband, Dr. Craig Danshaw, Marie Escudero and Faith Escudero; and his grandchildren, Brian, Lissa, Samantha, Jenna, Heather, Alexandria, John and Dominique. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Sloane, Penelope, Leo, Layla, Sophia, Mia, Carter and Amira, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his son, Paul Escudero. John’s legacy lives on in the strength of his family, the faith he practiced, and the love he shared so generously.
