GenerAction Jam Iftar
A film showcase, live poetry and spoken word will be the highlights of this event, which is hosted by Houston Muslim Filmmakers and IslamInSpanish. The showcase’s theme is “Reflection Before Reaction.” An Iftar dinner will follow the performances. This event is recommended for attendees 18 years and older. Advanced registration is required here.

Members of Masjid AlSalam are inviting the non-muslim community to gather and learn about the muslim faith and traditions at this Ramadan dinner. Please register in advance using the form here. The event will be held in the building’s gym.
Ramadan & Eid Market
A pop-up market, featuring more than 30 local vendors, will be held in honor of Ramadan. The market will have clothing, jewelry, food and more for sale. The event will also feature activities such as an arcade, face painting, henna, crafts and live music.

Masjid AlSalam is holding a Quran reciting competition in categories for children, beginning at age 4, through adults. Prizes will be awarded for first-, second- and third-place winners. Participants who are age 13 and younger will receive a $5 Eid token. People who are not competing are still welcome to watch the event. Register here by Feb. 27 to compete. Texas Suhoor Fest
The fourth annual Texas Suhoor Fest is being hosted in Houston by Halal Palate. The event will offer attendees a chance to enjoy halal cuisine and to shop from local vendors. RSVP in advance for the event here.
