EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso County Commissioner Precinct 2 challenger Miguel Teran is making his case to voters in Central El Paso and the Lower Valley as he runs for the seat currently held by County Commissioner David Stout.

During a morning interview, Teran was asked why voters should elect him as he runs against Stout, and what his priorities would be if elected.

He was also questioned about property taxes and what he would propose to realistically ease the burden on homeowners.

The interview also addressed concerns from some voters about AI data centers in El Paso and their potential impact on local resources, including what Teran believes needs to be done.

Immigration detention was another focus, with questions about East Camp Montana at Fort Bliss, described as one of the biggest immigration detention centers in the country on federal land, and the possibility of another detention facility in Socorro that would fall under the county.

Teran was asked for his take on the issue and what he thinks needs to be done.
