SILVER SPRING, Md. (Gray News) – Police in Maryland said suspects involved in an illegal street takeover vandalized several cruisers during the activity.
The Montgomery County Department of Police said officers first started monitoring a large group of vehicles linked to street takeover activity early Sunday at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, as they impacted intersections near Silver Spring and the Prince George’s County line.
Dashcam video from police shows the individuals blocking the roadway while vehicles perform burnouts in the intersection.

Authorities said two Montgomery County police cruisers were damaged during the takeover.
An officer was inside his vehicle when the windows were smashed, but no law enforcement injuries were reported.

Maryland State Police also responded to assist with the investigation.
Police are asking the public to help identify the individuals involved. Tips can be reported by calling 866-411-8477 and are eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.
