Caden Sorrell homered twice, including a grand slam, in Texas A&M‘s 25-5 rout of Lamar on Tuesday night at Blue Bell Park.

The Aggie bats were hot against the Cardinals, as the team notched a .545 batting average with five homers and 19 RBI. Texas A&M’s bullpen did its job by striking out eight Lamar hitters and only allowing five runs. After scoring 31 runs in the last two contests, the Aggies will prepare for the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, beginning Friday against Virginia Tech.

With the midweek victory over the Cardinals, Texas A&M improved to 8-0 on the season. The Aggies’ largest margin of victory so far shows that Michael Earley’s club can perform well at the plate, but the challenges this weekend will reveal where the team stands and what needs improvement moving forward.
