G6 Hospitality, parent company of the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the U.S., told franchise owners on Wednesday it is stepping back from its longstanding relationship with the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA).

A letter accessed by Skift, written by G6 CEO Sonal Sinha to franchise owners, read: “We believe that, at present, we can better serve franchise owners by directing our resources and advocacy toward organizations that are more closely aligned with the operating realities of economy and extended-stay lodging.”
