Texas Health Resources will build yet another hospital in Collin County, the health care system announced.
MCKINNEY, Texas — Texas Health Resources will build another hospital in fast-growing Collin County, hospital officials said.Â
The health system will build a new hospital and medical campuses in north McKinney, Texas Health Resources said in a press release. The new building will help Texas Health meet the needs of fast-growing Collin County, the release states.Â
The new hospital is expected to open in 2028 and will initially house 60 beds with plans to double its capacity to accommodate future growth, officials said.Â
The campus will be located on 51 acres of land located near U.S. 75 and Laud Howell Parkway, primarily serving north McKinney, Anna, Melissa, Princeton and the surrounding areas.
Texas Health is already working to construct a hospital in Forney, the release states.Â
North Texas’s healthcare systems are rapidly expanding in high-growth areas of the Metroplex, WFAA previously reported.
Beyond the new hospital in Forney, Texas Health Frisco will add 30 new patient rooms to the hospital’s medical/surgical unit. The $25 million project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2026.Â
Texas Health Plano recently opened a new six-story garage, and crews have begun construction on a new eight-story tower there, the release states.Â
The new North McKinney hospital will have a Women’s Services Center, including labor and delivery and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), as well as an emergency department, surgical suites, cardiology services and advanced imaging.
“The pace of our expansion reflects the urgent need for accessible, quality healthcare in this flourishing region and our commitment to the North Texas community,” said Barclay Berdan, CEO of Texas Health, said in the release. “This new facility will provide advanced medical care and emergency services to thousands of local families who deserve convenient, quality treatment close to home.”
