A win should guarantee a spot in the NCAA Tournament, Texas coach Sean Miller said earlier this week. But a loss could make things dicey down the stretch for a Longhorns’ squad just a spot or two away from the NCAA bubble.
The Longhorns had a five-game winning streak snapped Saturday with a 91-80 loss at Georgia despite big games from post Matas Vokietaitis (22 points, 8-of-10 shooting), wing Dailyn Swain (21 points, 6-of-11 shooting) and guard Jordan Pope (17 points on 5-of-9 shooting).
Florida enters the game on a seven-game winning streak, and the Gators like to pound teams in the paint behind a massive frontcourt that includes 6-foot-9 forward Thomas Haugh (17.3 points, 6.2 rebounds per game), 6-11 forward Alex Condon (14.0, 8.0), 6-10 post Rueben Chinyelu (11.5, 11.8) and 7-1 reserve Micah Handlogten (4.3, 6).
