TCU football’s helmets are going to look a little different when they kick off the 2026 college football season.
The Horned Frogs will be sport the “Clover Frog” on their helmet for their opener against North Carolina in the 2026 Aer Lingus College Football Classic on Aug. 29 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
The game marks the first time any college football team from Texas will play a game on the Emerald Isle.

The design places a single four-leaf clover in the mouth of the Horned Frog, taking a nod from the helmet TCU wore for its 2011 Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin. The four-leaf clover is traditionally considered a symbol of good luck.
The Horned Frogs beat UNC in last year’s season opener, demolishing the Tar Heels 48-14 on the road in the first game of Bill Belichick’s college football coaching career. TCU went on to finish the year ranked No. 25 in the AP poll with a 9-4 record that included an Alamo Bowl victory over No. 16 USC.
