The Harris County District Attorney’s Office dropped the charges against Eric Sim last year. Now, he’s suing the City of Houston.

HOUSTON — A former NASA engineer is suing the City of Houston, two Houston police officers, and the women who accused him of sexual assault back in 2024.

This comes after the Harris County District Attorney’s Office dropped the charges against Eric Sim in 2025, saying there wasn’t enough evidence to take the cases to trial.

In newly filed court documents, Sim and his attorneys claim the women falsely accused him of sexual assault.

At the time the charges were dropped, Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare said prosecutors spent 11 months sifting through evidence in the case and determined that sexual assault charges were not justified.

Sim’s defense attorney at the time had maintained his client’s innocence.

After the charges were filed, NASA said Sims was no longer employed with the agency.
