Joe graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, Texas in 1956. He went on to join the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. Upon leaving the Navy, he returned to Fort Worth, and later Arlington, where he began a long career in Information Technology. In 1967, he began working at Arlington State College as a computer programmer. He went on to become a systems analyst after the name changed to The University of Texas at Arlington, then was promoted to a database analyst, and retired from Computer Associates International as a quality assurance analyst in 2004. Joe’s hobbies included a love of bowling, stamp collecting, brain games and jazz music. He loved to go to Las Vegas, where he and his second wife, Melissa were married in 1983. The best words to describe Joe are kind, smart and funny; he didn’t say much, but when he did it was worth the wait. Joe will always be remembered for his patience and generosity, always putting others first. He was the salt of the earth. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joe Frank and Patsine Ferguson; and his first wife, Linda Ferguson. Joe is survived by his loving wife of almost 43 years, Melissa; son, Jeff Ferguson and wife, JoAnn; daughter, Robyn Joyner; sister, Judy Spracklen and husband, Kenneth and family; stepdaughter, Shannon Bell and husband, Damon; grandkids, Justin Ferguson, Laron Joyner, Lene Kinsey, Cameron Kinsey, Reece Capshaw and husband, Noah and Cole Bell; great- granddaughter, Hazel Capshaw; his little pug dog, Jade LaPerla; and all his friends at IHOP where he loved to eat breakfast and solve cryptogram puzzles. Rest in peace, Joe Frank. GREENWOOD FUNERAL HOME Greenwood Funeral Homes – Cremation 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX 76107 817-336-0584
