LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -Lubbock County officials cut the ribbon on an expanded medical examiner’s office Thursday.
Voters approved funding for the medical examiner’s office in 2023 through a bond election. The facility is located northeast of Lubbock, near the Lubbock County Detention Center.
The county is contracting with University Medical Center for forensic pathology and autopsy services. Those services were previously outsourced to Tarrant County until 2023, when they were brought in-house.
Thursday’s ribbon cutting marked the expansion of the medical examiner’s office.
