A letter sent from the principal of V.R. Eaton High School to seniors says the recently-announced Eagles concert canceled their prom night.
ARLINGTON, Texas — The newly-announced Eagles concert at Globe Life Field this May apparently swooped in and stole a North Texas high school’s prom night.Â
In a letter from V.R. Eaton High School Principal Stacy Miles to seniors, which was then sent to WFAA, Miles says the prom contract that Eaton High School had with Globe Life Field, which was signed last year, was “being disregarded and canceled” due to the world-famous band’s concert booking.Â
Coincidentally, Eaton High School’s mascot is the Eagles.
“We learned about this yesterday through promotional emails for the concert,” Miles’ letter read, in part. “In talking with the venue, they do not currently have an equitable solution. We are continuing to try to work with them and negotiate solutions as well as looking for other venues.”
Miles went on to say in the letter that she and other school officials were “disappointed in the company’s response to us and disappointed to have to give you this news.”
On the school’s campus calendar, the prom is still scheduled for May 16 — the same night as the booked Eagles concert at Globe Life Field — but it’s now listed as taking place at The Hurst Conference Center from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Live Nation is the promoter for the Eagles concert. WFAA has reached out to Globe Life Field and Live Nation for comment, but has not yet heard back.
