HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A 20-year-old man accused of pointing a gun at his former girlfriend and at her pregnant belly is now in custody following a dramatic warrant sweep in Harris County.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrant around 2 p.m. on the 4600 block of Cedar Street in Bellaire.

The normally quiet neighborhood was temporarily shut down as deputies surrounded the home.

Authorities were searching for Mac Ellis-Loving, who faces multiple charges.

According to court documents, Loving is accused of assaulting his former girlfriend, holding her hostage at gunpoint, and forcing her to beg for her life. Prosecutors say that last month, he allegedly threatened her again, pointing a gun at her and then at her pregnant belly.

During Thursday’s operation, deputies repeatedly ordered Loving to come out with his hands up, warning that a K-9 unit would be sent inside if he did not surrender.

Loving’s mother and another young woman exited the home shortly after law enforcement arrived and were not involved in the case. Authorities said it took about 20 minutes for Loving to come out. During that time, investigators broke two windows and prepared to send in K-9 units before he eventually surrendered.

He is now in the Harris County Jail.
