EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Clerk’s Office is holding a public comment period for input on Voter Service and Polling Centers (VSPCs) locations for the 2026 General Election.
According to a media release by the Clerk’s Office, the public comment period started on Thursday and will be open through April 27.
The Clerk’s Office said VSPCs will allow people the opportunity to vote in person, register to vote, update their voter registration record, get a replacement ballot or drop off their mail ballot.
The Clerk’s Office asks that if anyone who either owns or knows a suitable VSPC location to send the information to the Division Manager of Elections Angie Leath at angieleath@elpasoco.com.
The Clerk’s Office provided the following list of criteria that locations must meet in order to be eligible to qualify, according to Colorado law:
Available for Clerk and Recorder use anywhere from 9-25 days preceding the November 3, 2026, General ElectionSecure computer accessSecure internet accessSufficient electrical power for the equipmentMinimum 1,600-2,000 sq. ft.Accessible for people with disabilitiesSufficient public parking spaces (preferably free)Close proximity to public transportation linesA public location that typically services a significant number of peopleGeographically diverse to maximize coverage throughout the countySuitable restrooms for staff and votersProximity to other VSPC locationsAvailability 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, and from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, and Election Day, November 3, 2026Accessible to county election staff to set up and take down equipmentOpen to other minor compliance needs to satisfy state and federal law, such as posting election notice signs before and during the facility open to the public and/or temporarily installing video surveillance equipment
