EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott visited El Paso on Thursday, urging residents to participate in the upcoming election.

Speaking at a press conference at the Riviera Cocina & Cantina on Doniphan, Abbott emphasized the importance of voting on several key issues this November.

“One is focusing on what’s called fixing the broken pal system,” Abbott said, criticizing “leftist judges” for releasing individuals accused of serious crimes.

He urged voters to support Proposition 3, which aims to keep dangerous criminals behind bars while awaiting trial.

Abbott also addressed Texas’s water supply challenges, stating, “We’re using $20 billion, not a single penny more in taxpayer money,” to improve the state’s water infrastructure.

He explained that half of the funds would repair leaking pipes, while the other half would develop new water sources.

Early voting in El Paso is underway and will continue until Oct. 31, with the election set for Nov. 4.
