President Donald Trump is heading to the Lone Star State today, making a stop in Corpus Christi to tout claims that Texans are better off economically since he took office — here’s how to watch the address.
Trump’s planned remarks, set to begin at 3:30 p.m. CT, will take place at the city’s port and are expected to cover his administration’s economic policies.
The Friday appearance comes just days after Trump’s record-breaking State of the Union address, during which he touted his tariff plan despite a recent Supreme Court ruling that struck down a portion of the administration’s tariff agenda.
Trump’s visit to the port also comes as the facility reports a roughly 1.5% decline in activity in 2025 compared with 2024, though it still handled 203.4 million tons of goods through the ship channel.
“President Trump looks forward to returning to the great state of Texas tomorrow to discuss the economy and tout his ‘Drill Baby Drill agenda,'” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement on Thursday.
Friday’s trip marks the second time Trump has visited Texas since starting his second term in office. His most recent visit was to Kerrville after the catastrophic July 4 Texas Hill Country floods.
