West University Place officials are moving forward with renovating the second floor of the West University Place Recreation Center and are asking for residents’ input.

At West U City Council’s Feb. 23 meeting, council members approved the Parks and Recreation Department’s recommendation to renovate the second floor of the Recreation Center.
Council was presented with several rendering options and ultimately voted on an option that would expand the weight room and cardio room.
Public input
As of Feb. 27, residents can complete a feedback form to tell city officials what kind of equipment they use and what they would like to see in the new weight and cardio rooms.
The feedback period will be open through March 27, and residents will have three opportunities to visit the recreation center to talk to staff about the proposed equipment. Those dates include:
March 5: 7:30-11 a.m.; 12:30-2 p.m.March 24: 5-8 p.m.After the feedback period closes, the recommended equipment will be presented to the Parks and Recreation Board for consideration at its meeting April 1.
