With its season set to start in 11 days, the Texas women’s basketball team will play Lubbock Christian in an exhibition game at Moody Center on Thursday night.

This is the first of two exhibition matches for UT, which will host Texas Woman’s University at home on Monday. The Longhorns are set to open the season against Incarnate Word on Nov. 3.

Texas is coming off a season in which it went 35-4, split the Southeastern Conference’s championship with South Carolina and reached the Final Four for the first time since 2003. Last season, Lubbock Christian went 32-5 and reached the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Stay tuned for live updates.

Texas senior Ashton Judd will not make her debut tonight. Judd did not go through warm-ups with the Longhorns and is wearing a brace on her right leg.

A team spokesperson declined to comment on Judd’s injury. Texas coach Vic Schaefer will address the media after tonight’s exhibition.

Judd transferred to Texas this offseason after spending three years at Missouri. After knocking down 56 3-pointers last season, Judd was expected to provide Texas with some much-needed outside shooting while also contending with Justice Carlton and Teya Sidberry for minutes at the “4” position.
