Tim Tadlock and the Texas Tech Red Raiders aren’t the only folks who will be busy on Friday. The entirety of the Big 12 will be in action and 15 games will be played (thanks to the Kansas State Wildcats for playing a doubleheader).
There’s plenty happening across the conference (and also the country thanks to the Big 12’s expanded footprint). Today, the action will get started up over in Arlington at 11 a.m. and continue rolling all the way up to 8 p.m.
Yes, for those wondering, this is still nonconference play. We’re still a few weeks away from getting Big 12 teams facing one another, but that doesn’t mean that these games aren’t worth paying attention to. Especially for Texas Tech, a team that desperately needs to continue building on its existing winning streak.

For Texas Tech, at 5-3 overall and 4-0 at home, this is the perfect chance to just keep rolling along. Those three losses all came against opponents in the Shriners Children’s College Showdown against the likes of the Oklahoma Sooners, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Arkansas Razorbacks.
Losing in Arlington the way that the Red Raiders did was alarming, but there’s still plenty of season left for Texas Tech. And this is a great sort of opportunity for the Red Raiders to do just that.
