EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso Water is offering furloughed federal workers in the Borderland payment options as the government shutdown continues.
EPWater is offering customers who are furloughed federal employees payment extensions, disconnection fee waivers and flexible payment arrangements.
According to EPWater, the payment arrangements will have lower or no down payment options.
To apply for the program, furloughed federal workers in El Paso have to send an email to customer.service@epwater.org.

In the email, be sure to include the following:
“Furloughed worker” in the subject line.A copy of your driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID.A recent pay stub showing that you are a federal employee or a furlough letter issued by a federal agency. EPWater account number.Telephone number.
EPWater emphasized that people shouldn’t send them their Social Security Numbers or full account numbers beyond what is required by EPWater, adding that if their SSN is visible on any of the required documents, like in the paystub, please redact it from the document before emailing it.
