A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash Saturday on Ocean Drive near Robert Drive, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A motorcyclist has died following a crash on Ocean Drive this Saturday, according to officials with the Corpus Christi Police Department.

The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim of the crash as 38-year-old Gilbert Juarez. According to officials, the family has been notified. 

CCPD Public Information Officer Antonio Contreras said the crash occurred Saturday, Feb. 21, near Robert Drive, and involved a motorcycle and another vehicle. Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the rider to a local hospital in serious condition. According to the NCME’s office, Juarez died on Sunday. 

Police later determined the motorcyclist was at fault, and officials said the other vehicle remained on scene. 

An investigation is ongoing.Â
