HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Three detention officers were relieved of duty after an internal investigation found they assaulted and hurt an inmate in 2024, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
HCSO said it charged the officers with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury on Friday afternoon, two years after the incident on March 26, 2024.
The officers were identified by HCSO as Isaac Hernandez, 31, Isaac Serrato, 24, and Kevin Parker Jr., 27.
According to documents obtained by ABC13, all three officers are accused of using their hands to assault the victim, while Serrato is also accused of using his leg in the incident.
The sheriff’s office said its Administrative Disciplinary Committee will soon review the investigation’s findings and recommend disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination.
