The Brenham Cubs bounced back at the Corpus Christi tournament on Friday with a pair of wins.

Brenham defeated Cedar Park 5-1 before earning a 18-1 win over Harlingen.

The Cubs (4-7) picked up their first two-game win streak of the 2026 campaign.

Brenham’s first tournament win of the season came in its first game against Cedar Park. The Cubs exploded for four wins in the fourth inning en route to their 5-1 win.

All four of Brenham’s fourth-inning runs came with two outs, beginning on an RBI bunt single from third baseman Owen Finke with the bases loaded. Courtesy runner Caleb Maurer scored on the play.

Left fielder Bleu Cienega scored on a wild pitch before senior right fielder Drake Bentke hit a two-RBI double to center field to give Brenham its 5-0 lead.

Luke Hardy opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with a sacrifice fly to left field. Finke tagged up and scored.

Cedar Park prevented a shutout by scoring one in the top of the seventh, but starting pitcher Brayden Steele tallied his sixth strikeout to end the game and earn a seven-inning complete game.

Steele allowed just three hits and two walks in a 96-pitch outing for his first win of the year.

Finke, Bentke and catcher Brody Tucker each collected two hits. Finke earned his fourth multi-hit game of the season while Bentke and Tucker each added their third multi-hit performance.

Against Harlingen, Brenham scored nine runs in the first inning and eight runs in the second inning. The Cubs combined for 12 hits, including a three-hit game for leadoff hitter Dalton Hart.

Hart led off the bottom of the first with his first hit and later was driven in by Bentke on a two-RBI base hit into right field. Brenham tallied five more RBI hits in the frame, including a three-run home run for Finke.

The Cubs’ second game was a team performance with nine players earning at least one hit. Eight of those hitters tallied at least one RBI, including three RBIs for Finke and Cooper Hodde. Brooks Roznovsky earned two hits and two RBIs. Hudson Hartstack also earned two RBIs on a second-inning sacrifice fly and a first-inning RBI single.

Brenham’s 12 hits gave the Cubs their third game with at least 10 hits.

Brenham will conclude the Corpus Christi tournament against Hutto at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
