The Unpacking FuturePackers Countdown is a countdown of 100 prospects who theGreen Bay Packers could select in the 2026 NFL draft.

The Green Bay Packers need to get more impact from the interior of their defensive line. Devonte Wyatt, who only played in 10 games this season, led the defensive tackle group with four sacks and tied for the clubhouse lead with six tackles for loss. The rest of the defensive tackles combined for one sack and seven tackles for loss. Karl Brooks led the position group with 25 pressures. Wyatt recorded 22 pressures before suffering a season-ending injury. The rest of the group combined for just 30 pressures.

It’s a group that needs an infusion of talent and competition. A potential target on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft is Albert Regis. The Texas A&M defensive tackle checks in at No. 59 in the Unpacking Future Packers Countdown.

A four-star recruit from Texas, Regis recorded 2.5 tackles for loss during his redshirt freshman campaign. In 2023, he recorded 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. The following season he recorded three tackles for loss and a .5 sack. He also knocked down six passes.

This past season, Regis enjoyed a career year, posting career-highs in tackles (49) and sacks (two), to go along with three tackles for loss.

“Not only did he mean a great deal to A&M from a physical perspective but from a leadership one, being a fifth year player,” Kannon Torres, a contributor for Aggie Yell, said. “Now he has the raw power you want from an interior pass rusher and that’s what the Aggies used him as.”

At 6-1, 295 pounds, Regis is a compact defensive tackle who owns a strong lower half to put down roots in his gap and clog up running lanes. He’s not just a boulder though, he has the lateral range to make plays up and down the line of scrimmage and he stays balanced through contact. With his first step quickness, he has the juice to invade gaps. Over the past two seasons, Regis has recorded 45 run stops.

“It starts with his get-off ability,” Torres said. “He disengages from blocks decently well and has a heck of an armbar.”

As an interior pass rusher, Regis wins with his first-step quickness and power. He gets underneath the pads off offensive linemen and drives them back with his bull rush. He recorded a career high in pressures this past season (13) to go along with his career high in sacks (two). Regis is going to get drafted for his ability to muck things up against the run, and whatever he offers as a pass rusher will be gravy.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Regis showcased his athleticism and short-area burst with a 1.72 10-yard split, which was eighth best among defensive tackles. His 4.88 40-yard dash time was tied for fifth best among his position group. His 34-inch vertical was second best and his 09-08 broad jump was the best mark among defensive tackles. His 7.77 3-cone time was also the best among defensive tackles.

Fit with the Packers

The Packers need to add talent to their defensive tackle room. Regis checks the boxes with his athleticism and ability to make an impact against the run.

“I’d draft him due to his ability to leverage blockers,” Torres said. “He’s a well-experienced player.”

To go along with his on-field skillset, Regis is a player who will impress throughout the interview process and could be a target for the Packers in the fourth round as they look to shore up their run defense and get more impactful play from their defensive tackle group.
