Calling all San Antonians: the wait for another adorable, budget-friendly market is finally over. This week marks the opening of the city’s newest Miniso location on the Northwest side.
It comes after months of anticipation. Social media has been abuzz with conversation after a building at the Rim shopping plaza was covered with the company’s “coming soon” posters. As of Saturday, February 28, at 10 a.m., folks can visit the site at 17822 La Cantera Parkway and shop blind boxes to their heart’s content.

The earlier you arrive, the better. Corporate officials tell MySA that the first 50 customers will score free, $50 value goodie bags. PENPEN, the company’s loveable blue mascot, will also make an appearance this morning.
MySA got a sneak peek of the retailer’s setup beforehand, which revealed just how much the store features. Some aisles are neatly stacked with Hello Kitty mochi bites, Hi-Chew candies, and chip bags. Toward the register, a refrigerated section is filled with boba drinks and strawberry milk. Other sections display merchandise for the K-pop band BTS and well-known anime shows like One Piece. A massive area on the right also offers makeup and skincare products.

What kind of stuff does MINISO sell?
Founded in Guangzhou, China, the chain has become globally recognized through its collaborations with major brands such as Marvel, Disney, Sanrio, and BT21. It sells everything from colorful home accessories to plush toys to stationery. The company’s website describes its motto as blending creativity, affordability, and fun in every product.

Miniso has a strong presence in Asia, North America, and Europe. Yet, it has kept its Texas expansion relatively low-key. Two other locations quietly launched last summer, leaving many surprised on their trip to the Southpark and Ingram malls.

Details for the Northeast location were revealed after MySA received a tip showing that “coming soon” flyers had been plastered on an abandoned tenant space in November 2025. A trip to the property in January 2026 revealed that the business was hiring, though its first day of operation was not displayed.
Hours for the Rim location have not been published, but the other two local stores are as follows: Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. for Ingram Park Mall); 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays for both.
