Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has made several stops in Austin to promote his “Make America Healthy Again” agenda, his latest apparently demonstrating how Americans should be working out — and that, seemingly, is in jeans.

RFK Jr. donned what looked to be hike-like boots at an Austin-area gym — unclear which exactly — proceeding to lift multiple plates of weights on a leg press machine in a video he uploaded on his X account on Friday.

“Leg day in Austin,” Kennedy wrote. He finished his reps and smiled at the camera.

Kennedy might have thought he was furthering physical health advice, but X users argued otherwise.

“Ego lifting, not one full rep lower the weight and do a proper full rep,” one X user wrote. Another added, “If you really did leg day, you wouldn’t be wearing jeans.”

Others pointed out that Kennedy may have more pressing items on his agenda, with one X user writing, “Maybe instead of all this filming fake workout videos in your jeans, you should spend some time researching vaccines.”

Several jumped to Kennedy’s defense, with an X user lauding the amount he was lifting for someone his age, 72 years old.

The American-Statesman contacted the department for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

RFK Jr. spotted at Terry Black’s in Austin

Just a day before, Kennedy stopped at Terry Black’s to “EAT REAL FOOD,” one of the recent key items he has touted on his agenda to make Americans healthier.

Kennedy’s barbecue pit-stop comes amid his long-running pitch that the country’s health problems start in the grocery aisle and that “real food” should replace what he and his allies describe as an ultra-processed, additive-heavy diet. His administration targets ultra-processed foods and additives as drivers of chronic disease.
