FORT WORTH – Charles Minor Bounds, 76, was born July 30, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, and passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 23, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Reception: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in Greenwood’s Live Oak Room Interment: 3:00 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Park. After graduating from L.D. Bell High School, Charles attended Angelo State University, where he played football until a neck injury ended his collegiate athletic career. Though his time on the field was cut short, his strength, determination, and competitive spirit remained hallmarks of his life. He was also an excellent fast-pitch softball player, spending many of his younger years playing beside his father, a multiple world champion pitcher. Those years on the field were among his most treasured memories and reflected the deep bond they shared through the game. A successful businessman, Charles owned and operated multiple Chevrolet franchises in North Texas from the late 1970s through the 1990s, along with a precision aerospace manufacturing company. He was respected not only for his business acumen but also for his dependability and his unwavering commitment to his word. Most recently, he came out of retirement to work for Albany Engineered Composites as a Strategic Supplier Manager. He truly enjoyed his time there, forming new friendships and meaningful bonds, and valued the opportunity to contribute his experience and wisdom once again. He was well known for his quick wit, unmistakable humor, and, at times, his uncanny sarcasm – traits that endeared him to those who knew and loved him. He was a past member of the Moslah Temple Shrine and the Lake Worth Masonic Lodge. While he had not been active in recent decades, he remained proud of his associations and the principles of brotherhood they represented. Most importantly, Charles loved Jesus. He lived with a deep faith and the quiet confidence of knowing exactly where he was going when he closed his eyes for the final time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minor “Red” Bounds and Joan Bounds; his three brothers, Eddie, Terry and Stephen Bounds; and his sister, Janelle Parisher. Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Vickie. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Bounds and wife, Azure, of Royse City; his daughter, Lauren Griffin and husband, Forrest, of Fort Worth; his sister, Celya Pitney of North Richland Hills; sister-in-law, Diane Bounds of Lakeside; sister-in-law, Joyce Southerland and husband, Bill, of Garland; Donna Mayes of Frisco; sister-in-law, Diane Vaughn and brother-in-law, Earl Vaughn, of Arlington; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Belcher of Sanger. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Brayden Bounds, Sydney Bounds, Finley Griffin, and Boston Griffin. He also leaves behind a special family member, Minor Hopkins; many cherished relatives, including nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Cosmo. The family wants to mention with great appreciation the wonderful Doctors, nurses and entire staff of the neurology floor at Medical City Fort Worth. Specifically, Dr. Cho and Dr. Mughal. The family also extends their deep and heartfelt appreciation to Eagle Mountain EMS and local law enforcement for their swift response and care. They are profoundly grateful for wonderful neighbors who rushed to their side so quickly in an effort to save Charles’s life. Donations may be made in Charles’ memory to the Humane Society of North Texas, reflecting his deep love for animals.
