BIG SPRING, Texas (KCBD) – Prosecutors are expected to rest their case Monday against a man accused of killing a 50-year-old woman whose body was found along Highway 87 in August 2023.
Frank Montemayor, 25, is charged in the death of Claudia Gail Davis. Prosecutors allege Davis and Montemayor got into an argument about drugs while driving from Lubbock to Big Spring, leading Montemayor to shoot Davis and dump her body near Sixth Street.
The Texas Rangers joined the investigation and eventually named Montemayor as the suspect.
Judge Reed Filley is overseeing the case.
