Get your steps in with NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 at the annual BAPS Charities 2026 Annual Walk | Run on Sunday, May 31 at the Levy Event Plaza in Irving. This year, the event will support local organizations Children’s Health and The Main Place, in addition to the national BAPS Charities organization.

This event is not just a walk; it is an event that unites the people while making an impact in the community. The walk is a nationwide initiative that promotes health, wellness, and community service. It brings together civic leaders, corporate partners, families, and volunteers, all in the Spirit of Service.

BAPS Charities is a national organization with several chapters across the country, including Dallas. The organization also has global chapters in nine countries, including Canada, Africa, India, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. BAPS Charities emphasizes the spirit of selfless service by focusing on five key areas: humanitarian relief, health awareness, environmental support, educational services, and community empowerment. Through walkathons and sponsored walks, BAPS Charities can engage individuals to lend their time and support to volunteer, making a lasting impact in our communities.

This year, in addition to benefitting BAPS Charities, funds raised from this event will support Children’s Health and The Main Place, two local organizations based in North Texas. Children’s Health is the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas. Their mission is to make life better for children through advocacy, education and preventative care. The Main Place is an organization based in Irving that provides clothing, new and like-new, and personal items for teens experiencing homelessness, for the domestically abused, and for the jobless, raising their self-esteem and removing or reducing that financial burden. Yearly, the walk attracts about 1,400 walkers from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and more than 50,000 walkers across the country. The walk will take place in the heart of Irving at the Levy Event Plaza in Las Colinas on May 31 at 8:00 a.m. The 3K trail will attract a diverse audience of different ages and backgrounds.
