One Fort Worth restaurant was closed, and five others had issues with rodents or roaches in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram includes data from Feb. 8 through Feb. 21 and 308 inspections.
Fort Worth’s restaurant inspections function on a demerit system. When the total demerits exceed 30, the restaurant must take immediate action to fix the worst violations and has 48 hours to fix the rest.
One location was closed for serious health violations:
Domino’s Pizza #6948, 8808 Camp Bowie West Blvd., had a score of 11. The location was closed because of issues with its hot water temperature, inspectors said.
Three others had high scores:
Cesar’s Tacos, 4728 South Freeway, had a score of 34.Tacos Los Irresistibles, 1308 N. Sylvania Ave., had a score of 26.Triple Seven Food Store, 5800 E. Berry St., had a score of 26.
Four restaurants had issues with roaches, rodents or pest droppings:
Mexican Inn Cafe #4, 2700 E. Lancaster Ave., had a score of 20. Inspectors saw a dead roach in the ice cream cooler, according to the report.Birrieria Tres Coronas, 1150 E. Seminary Drive, had a score of 17. Inspectors found dead cockroaches in the corners of a back storage area and underneath a three-compartment sink.Gyro & Kabob Grill, 7660 McCart Ave., had a score of 16. Dead roaches were found in an office where soda syrups are stored. Rodent droppings were found on top of a nonfunctioning ice machine.Subway #29076, 8556 S. Hulen St., had a score of 11. Inspectors saw one dead cockroach.
