HOUSTON – A man has been found guilty of shooting and wounding a Harris County deputy back in 2023.
Terran Green was convicted Thursday on an aggravated assault against a public servant charge for shooting Harris County Deputy Joseph Anderson during a traffic stop.
The shooting happened on Aug. 16, 2023. Deputy Anderson had pulled Green over for speeding.

During the stop, Dep. Anderson asked Green for his driver’s license. Green claimed it was in the back seat and he couldn’t reach it. As Dep. Anderson attempted to retrieve the license, Green pulled out a handgun and began shooting. Dep. Anderson was hit and Green sped off. A wrecker driver and several others came to the deputy’s aid, calling 911.
A search was conducted for Green, who was later found barricaded inside a home in northeast Harris County. The resulting hours-long standoff led to gunfire and three other officers being hurt before Green was taken into custody.
Deputy Anderson suffered severe injuries from the shooting, but ultimately survived.
The sentencing portion of Green’s trial is now underway. He faces 25 years to life in prison.
