As Halloween approaches, many organizations and businesses around Austin are offering fun experiences for the whole family. Grab your kiddos and put on your cutest costumes before heading to these spooky celebrations.

Trick or Treat Trail at San Gabriel Park

What: This free event invites kids to dress up and trick-or-treat on the trail at San Gabriel Park. Participate in a costume contest, grab some grub from a food vendor, and end the night with a 7 p.m. showing of “Hocus Pocus” on the Legacy Pavilion.

Spooktacular at Bullock Museum

What: The Bullock Museum’s annual event offers slimy, spooky science activities for the whole family,  including a scavenger hunt, a Día de los Muertos activity and access to the newest exhibit, “T. rex: The Ultimate Predator.”

Boo at the Zoo

What: The Austin Zoo’s final weekend of spook-tacular fun is fast approaching. At the zoo’s haunted house and on the spooky train, you’re sure to spot some wild animals, but rest assured — none of them turn into werewolves after dark. Costumes are encouraged.

Round Rock Premium Outlets Mall-O-Ween

What: Kiddos are invited to “haunt” the Round Rock Premium Outlets and trick-or-treat at participating retailers. Shoppers who spend $100 or more during their visit will receive a special Mall-O-Ween gift. To redeem your gift, present same-day receipts to the registration table located at the main entrance between Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.

When: 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25

Pokéween Trick or Treat

What: The Cards & More Expo presents Pokéween & Trick or Treat, a family-friendly expo that invites fans of Pokémon, comics, trading cards and more to explore more than 100 vendor booths and enjoy live music, food trucks and raffle giveaways.

When: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26; Exclusive VIP access from 10-11 a.m.

Strawfest at Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum

What: Kids are invited to visit the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum to enjoy games, fall crafts, a costume parade, straw pit, spider web maze, face painting, character performances, caricatures, pumpkin decorating, and more. Costumes are encouraged. Families can also catch a falconry flight show at 12 p.m. or 2 p.m.

Austin Symphony Orchestra

What: The Austin Symphony Orchestra is hosting a Halloween children’s concert with a pirate theme to commemorate the holiday. The concert will feature “spooky symphonic thrills and pirate delights.” Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite pirate, witch, ghost or superhero – the best costumes will win “treasure” onstage. Starting one hour before the concert, check out crafts, games and explore playing with instruments on the H-E-B Terrace and Long Center lobby.

Travis County Sheriff’s Office Trunk or Treat

What: The Travis County Sheriff’s Office will host a trunk or treat event in the parking lot, where kids can dress up and safely collect candy and treats.

When: 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26

Halloween Mall Crawl at Lakeline Mall

What: Lakeline Mall is hosting a ghostly good time complete with trick-or-treating, crafts, coupons and more. Trick-or-treating will take place in the food court and around the mall at participating retailers. Only guests under 14 are permitted to wear masks.

When: 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31
