The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office is soliciting suggestions from the public for new places that could host Voter Service and Polling Centers in the next election.

The county elections office is accepting public comment and suggestions through April 27 for where to offer services during the general election in November.

The Voter Service and Polling Centers are staffed locations where citizens can cast an in-person ballot, register to vote, update their voter registration or drop off their ballot.

During the 2025 election, El Paso County provided 11 voting centers in addition to the county’s main office. Those centers were placed at Fort Carson, the two campuses for Pikes Peak State College and city-owned buildings in Fountain and Monument.

Colorado law outlines a lengthy list of criteria for a place to be considered as a polling center, including a minimum size of 1,600 square feet, a sufficient number of parking spaces and bathrooms, secure computer and internet access, geographic diversity and access for the Clerk and Recorder’s Office in the weeks before an election.

The county press release on Friday stated the office would prefer donated spaces and suggestions that included contact information for the site’s manager.
