ABILENE, Texas – UT Arlington women’s golf is gearing up for the West Texas Classic in Abilene, its third tournament of the spring. The Mavericks will be back in action for the first time after a two-week hiatus.
UTA is coming off a seventh-place finish in the Texas Golf Throwdown. The Mavericks as a team were 55-over-par for the tournament, carding scores of 311-298-310– 919 across three rounds.
The lineup for UTA remains the same as its first two tournaments of the spring.

Nitisha Manikandesh
Manikandesh was the Mavericks top finisher in the Texas Golf Throwdown, placing in a tie for 23rd in the 81-player field. The senior finished with a 12-over-par 228.
Coming in a tie for 32nd place at the Texas Gold Throwdown, Gabel had the third-best finish for UTA at the tournament. The senior birdied seven holes across her three rounds, the most for any Maverick in the field.
The second-best finisher for UTA at the Texas Golf Throwdown was Bhoga, who settled in at 26th in the field. The sophomore posted a 76-82-76– 234 for the tournament.
Browning shot 1-over-par 37’s on the front nine in each of the first two rounds of the Texas Golf Throwdown. The redshirt senior ended the tournament in a tie for 44th with a 21-over 237.
Gulhane finished one stroke in front of Browning at the Texas Golf Throwdown with rounds of 78-75-83– 236 to finish tied for 40th. It was Gulhane’s best finish on the leaderboard this season.
