HOUSTON — Houston Christian University wraps up its regular season home slate Monday at 5 p.m. inside Sharp Gym, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in Southland Conference action.

The Huskies (8-20, 6-15 SLC) enter the matchup 8-20 overall and 6-15 in conference play. In the first meeting between the teams this season, HCU earned a 63-50 road win on Jan. 31.

Grace Booth leads HCU with 11.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, while Kamryn McLaurin adds 10.6 points per contest. The Huskies are averaging 60.1 points per game and 9.3 steals per contest, using defensive pressure to generate transition opportunities.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (5-23, 4-17 SLC) comes in 5-23 overall and 4-17 in league play. The Islanders average 57.0 points per game and are led by Samora Watson (10.4 ppg) and Chelsea Wooten (10.1 ppg). HCU will look to control the glass and limit turnovers against an Islanders team that averages 11.9 steals per game.

Following Monday’s contest, the Huskies will head to Lake Charles, Louisiana for the Southland Conference Tournament, set for March 9-12.
