Plano and Plano West are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Wolves at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Plano’s pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Princeton 16-0. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Caroline Evans and Ashley Johnston were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Evans tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Johnston pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What’s more, Evans posted five strikeouts, the most she’s had over her last seven matchups. At the plate, Evans went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Johnston earned three runs and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Aubrey Zhang was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That’s the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Darby DeJean was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Plano West and Plano East faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. The Wolves came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 10-5. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Panthers: they’ve now won three in a row.

Kendall Prowell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Plano West got a massive performance out of Beetle Nell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brooke Reasoner, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Plano West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

The win got Plano West back to even at 5-5-1. As for Plano, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Plano hasn’t had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it’s not like Plano West struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it’ll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Plano beat Plano West 13-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
