Five local leaders recognized for dedication, leadership, and excellence during Thursday’s event at Corpus Christi Country Club.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The YWCA of Corpus Christi will honor outstanding women in the community this Thursday at the White Women in Careers Awards, celebrating leadership, dedication, and excellence in their fields.
The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Country Club.
Esmeralda Teran, representing the YWCA, said, “We are honoring five exceptional women — Dr. Nancy Vera, Susan Klaus, Dr. Esther Caribe, Laura Beink, and Mina Moore. These women were selected from more than 20 nominees for their incredible contributions.”
The event will feature best-selling author Marion Luna Brem as the keynote speaker. “Everyone attending White WC on Thursday will receive one of her books,” Teran said. “It’s a chance to be inspired and take home something memorable.”
In addition to recognizing local leaders, the YWCA continues to offer impactful programs for teens in the community. Teran highlighted the new Power series, including Power in History, Power in Her, and Power in the Justice System, which educates youth on topics from mental health to cultural history.
“We recently had a very successful Saturday for Power in History, where we taught about Black History Month and quilt making,” she said.
Tickets and tables are still available for the awards ceremony. Interested participants can purchase tickets here or call 361-857-5661.
