EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — If you are looking for something fun to do while supporting local artists, there is something new right up your alley.
El Paso artist and business owner Emily Silva has started what she is calling a new Makers Market.

Silva envisions it as sort of a traveling market that is held in different spots in El Paso and showcases the work of local artists and craftspeople.
The first-ever Makers Market, under Silva’s guidance, was held Sunday, March 1 at Casa Kin Cafe, 400 W. Overland.
“It is an art market to really, really really push local artists, new artists, upcoming artists, maybe artists who have never done this before,” Silva said.
“It could be your friend, your family, your neighbor you are supporting, directly supporting, instead of big, huge corporations,” Silva said.
Silva said she would like to hold these Makers Markets once a month, probably on Fridays or Saturdays in the evening.
Silva said they are looking for artists, musicians, performers and food vendors to participate.
