Frisco’s sports bar scene is about to get a little louder and a lot more competitive. A Houston-born favorite known for packed patios, wall-to-wall TVs and its famously quirky turtle races is making its way north.

Little Woodrow’s is preparing to open its newest location at 8320 State Hwy 121, just steps from Stonebriar Centre, with a Spring 2026 debut planned as construction ramps up near iFly.

For a city that thrives on game days and outdoor gathering spaces, the arrival marks the continued expansion of a Texas-grown brand betting big on North Texas.

A Houston Classic Heads To Frisco

Little Woodrow’s, operated by Woody’s Brands, built a loyal following across Texas thanks to its casual, high-energy mix of sports viewing, social events and expansive patios. The Frisco location will become the company’s 24th Texas outpost and only the second in North Texas, following an earlier expansion into Fort Worth.

The move is part of a broader growth push for the company, which plans multiple openings across the state between now and mid-2026, including a new Woody’s Hideaway concept in Conroe.

Bringing the concept to Frisco places the brand squarely in one of North Texas’ fastest-growing entertainment corridors, surrounded by retail, attractions and steady traffic along Highway 121.

When doors open next spring, guests can expect the elements that have defined Little Woodrow’s locations across Texas.

Plans call for a large outdoor patio designed for social gatherings, alongside an interior filled with multiple televisions dedicated to live sports. The bar will feature an extensive lineup of craft beers, cocktails and hard seltzers, paired with a full menu of American bar-and-grill staples like wings and burgers.

Shell Yeah, It’s Turtle Racing

What began as a quirky idea at the brand’s Midtown Houston location has evolved into one of Little Woodrow’s most recognizable traditions: turtle racing.

Now more than 18 seasons strong, the races have become a signature weekly event, drawing crowds of longtime fans, newcomers and curious spectators alike. Equal parts competition, comedy and community gathering, the spectacle invites guests to pick a turtle, cheer from the sidelines and see which shelled contender crosses the finish line first — all while holding a drink in hand.

The tradition has grown into a defining part of the Little Woodrow’s identity, proving that slow and steady can still steal the spotlight. While Frisco’s official event schedule has yet to be announced, turtle racing is widely expected to make its local debut once the venue opens.

Construction Underway

The future sports bar is already taking shape. Recent construction updates show interior tiling progressing alongside exterior façade work, signaling steady momentum toward the spring opening timeline.

The site’s placement near Stonebriar Centre positions it within one of Frisco’s busiest retail and entertainment zones, an area that continues attracting destination dining and nightlife concepts as the city grows.

As Frisco continues evolving from a suburban retail hub into a regional entertainment destination, new arrivals increasingly emphasize experiences rather than just dining.

Little Woodrow’s fits squarely into that trend, equal parts neighborhood hangout and game-day headquarters.
