LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Rawls College of Business Center for Real Estate at Texas Tech was renamed Monday in honor of alumni John and Rachel Brownlee.
The couple said they created the advisory board for the center, which helped hire more instructors, increase research and connect with alumni.
Nearly 300 students are enrolled in commercial real estate courses administered by the John & Rachel Brownlee Center for Real Estate. The center is open to any student, regardless of major.
John Brownlee said the center is designed to connect students with the industry.
“The center is really designed to help bridge the gap between students at Texas Tech and the commercial real estate industry,” Brownlee said.
He added that the center has brought together Texas Tech alumni who are actively recruiting from the university.
“We’ve engaged maybe the best and brightest of former Texas Tech alumni that are both recruiting from Texas Tech and giving examples of what you can do once you get out in the real world,” Brownlee said.
The Brownlees said they are humbled by the recognition and want to drive the future of real estate.
