The newest El Paso County Sheriff’s Office K9, Mako, assisted in a narcotics bust Wednesday that resulted in the seizure of hundreds of fentanyl pills and nearly 50 grams of methamphetamines, according to a Thursday news release by the agency.
The suspect, 31-year-old Warren Wooten, faces several charges, including three felony counts of drug distribution, manufacture, dispensing or sale of a controlled substance, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The agency stated that the incident started shortly at 4 p.m. Wednesday, when the K9 unit was requested to conduct an “open-air sniff of a vehicle suspected of containing narcotics.”
