EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso’s getting ready to dance for a cause, and this year, celebrity guest Mario Lopez is back, joined by his wife Courtney.

They’ll co-host the 2025 Dance for Kids’ Sake this Saturday, raising money and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Local dancers and judges are stepping up, training with free lessons from studios across the city. It all leads to one big night of music, movement, and community spirit.

KFOX14 spoke to Lopez about returning to El Paso for the organization’s biggest fundraiser.

“First of all, love El Paso. It’s a great town with really nice people. We had a great time last time, and I’d like to see the community rally around a fun event and get everyone dancing and moving, and the kids seem to have a really good time, and I’m looking forward to having my wife come,” Lopez said.

He added, “I’m excited to be there and support, and you know I love a good cause to bring people together and to celebrate, and what can audiences expect this year’s Dance for Kids sake? Well, Mrs. Lopez and I are going to be hosting the event and seeing some of El Paso’s finest, a lot of times, or most of the time, I should say, most of these people haven’t danced before, but they take lessons to put on these performances to raise money for the charity. So, it should be a lot of fun.”

Participants prep with free dance lessons courtesy of our incredible partners Shundo Ballroom Dance Studio, Urban Movement Dance Academy, Premier Studios, and Expressions Dance Academy.

Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Dance for Kids’ Sake takes place this Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre.

Tickets are $50, with all proceeds supporting local youth mentoring programs.
